A sophomore for the NCAA’s Boston University Terriers, Hickey scored an invite to Hockey Canada’s world-junior selection camp and immediately scrambled to reschedule a handful of final exams and other assignments he’d miss while he’s away.
“I don’t think any of my teachers have really had a student come say, ‘I need to go to try out for a world junior team,’ ” Hickey said with a laugh. “Obviously, (Jack) Eichel had to do that last year, but with a different set of teachers.
