Blues' Hitchcock tunes out 'white noise' to stay focused on his team

SAN JOSE, CALIF. - You could not talk to Ken Hitchcock Friday about the plane crash in the Mediterranean, the Toronto Raptors or anything Donald Trump has said.

It’s not that the St. Louis Blues coach doesn’t care. He just really wouldn’t know.

“You don’t read stories, don’t read articles, you don’t look at what’s going on in the world around you,” Hitchcock explained Friday. “You’re oblivious to all of that. Your total focus is helping your players have success. You become really singular-focused. Your thoughts are on one thing only and you’re oblivious to everything else in the world.
