Tyler Wong may have had a hat trick for the visitors, but Micheal Zipp scored the goal that fans came to see.
Wong led the Lethbridge Hurricanes to a 4-2 win over the Calgary Hitmen on Sunday, but it was Zipp’s goal that prompted the 17,601 fans to litter the ice with thousands of stuffed toys as part of the Brick Teddy Bear Toss at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
Zipp’s point shot deflected off a Lethbridge player and past goalie Stuart Skinner with just 12.6 seconds left in the first period to start the avalanche of furry creatures.
