The Colorado Avalanche acquired forward Mikkel Boedker from the Arizona Coyotes on Monday in exchange for forwards Alex Tanguay and Conner Bleackley and defenceman Kyle Wood.
In a separate deal the Avalanche acquired defenceman Eric Gelinas from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2017 draft.
Tanguay was a member of Colorado's 2001 Stanley Cup championship team and was in his second stint with the Avalanche.
Tanguay is a veteran of 1,070 career NHL games and has 850 points (279 goals, 571 assists). The 36-year-old has just 22 points (four goals, 18 assists) in 52 games this season in the third campaign since his return to the franchise.
