DETROIT — Early Sunday morning, as they prepped the sound equipment in the media workroom at Joe Louis Arena, a recording welcoming everyone to the 2008 Stanley Cup playoffs mistakenly played over the sound system.
If this were indeed true, it would be good news for the Detroit Red Wings. The 2008 versions of Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk would certainly come in handy during Detroit’s current Stanley Cup opening-round series with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Some hours later, as the two teams took to the ice for Game 3 of their best-of-seven set, for a brief moment, it was turn back the clock night.
