Mark Jankowski is an elder statesman at these summer get-togethers.
Five times now, the lanky lad has tripped west to Cowtown in July to attend Calgary Flames’ development camp.
That’s a lot of introductions, a lot of media interviews, a lot of autographs and a lot of time for folks in Southern Alberta to back-and-forth about the future of the Flames’ surprise selection in the first round of the 2012 NHL Draft.
“Sometimes, I look back and it feels like just yesterday that I got drafted,” Jankowski said after Monday’s medical testing and fitness rigmarole, always the first item on the itinerary at development camp.
