The Edmonton Oilers needed a good goaltending performance in Vancouver on Sunday and got one from Anders Nilsson.
Nilsson made 33 saves in the 2-1 overtime win over the Vancouver Canucks, which improved the Oilers record to 2-4-0 on the season and relieved some of the pressure mounting on the club.
The Detroit Red Wings and Washington Capitals are now on deck.
“I’m really pleased with the goaltending, I think that was the same performance that we saw in Dallas,” said Oilers head coach Todd McLellan following the game. “I think our team played a little better in front of him, but Anders made save after save to give us every opportunity to win.
