The Calgary Flames made a trade with the Los Angeles Kings, sending them the 84th pick in exchange for the 89th pick and the 168th pick.
With their second pick of the third round, 89th overall, the Calgary Flames selected D Cameron Whynot. Whynot had 23 points in 34 games for the Halifax Mooseheads of the QMJHL last season.
The 84th pick was acquired from the Edmonton Oilers in the Milan Lucic/James Neal trade so we can only hope that either Whynot or the 168th pick turns into a star player to really irk Edmonton fans.
