89 Champs: Where Are They Now: Dana Murzyn

The Calgary product was dealt to the Flames in time to win a Stanley Cup.

Sometimes dreams do come true and Dana Murzyn is proof positive of that. The Calgary Alberta product spent 2 years with the Hartford Whalers before being dealt to his home town Flames in 1987-88. The following season Murzyn played in 63 games for the Calgary Flames on the way to his only Stanley Cup Championship. The 6’2, 200lb defenceman helped man the blue line for the Flames that season and had 22 regular season points, including one game winning goal.

Murzyn spent part of the next season with Calgary before being dealt to the Vancouver Canucks.
