The Flames started the season on a blistering pace and never looked back, finishing head and shoulders above the competition to clinch the Western Conference with a whopping 107 points and 50 wins. These numbers tie them with the Bruins for second overall in the league, passed only by the dominant Tampa Bay Lightning. The Flames' scoring skill and the talents of head coach Bill Peters propelled this team past expectations that were already pretty high, finally reaching the potential the team has been clamoring toward for a few years now.
