Just as surely as the 2015-16 season has finished up, we're about to begin with the 2016-17 hockey calendar. The annual Calgary Flames development camp, a rite of summer for the youngest members of the Flames organization, has just been officially announced by the club and is the first major event of the new hockey year.
The camp runs July 4-8 at Winsport over at Canada Olympic Park, and the roster features a few fairly big names such as 2012 first round pick Mark Jankowski and 2016 first round pick Matthew Tkachuk.
THE SCHEDULE
The camp is largely the same format as last year, meaning lots of skill development and drills and not a lot of flashy scrimmages.
