There have been a lot of positive takeaways from Cal football’s first two games of the season. The offense looks even better than it did last year, especially with quarterback Jared Goff’s improvement as a pocket passer and his ability to read defenses pre-snap. The defense looks much more organized and aggressive now coming up with turnovers and third-down stops, and preventing big plays.
But the Bears also started last year 2-0 before encountering higher-caliber teams and finishing the season under .500. The team understands this and the players and staff know that each week will only get harder.
