Last month, news surfaced that the football programs at Clemson and Florida State were banning players from social media. The policy of course prevents the problems that sometimes arise on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram, and removes another distraction from athletes’ chaotic schedules.
But Cal head coach Sonny Dykes hardly believes such measures are necessary. Social media is “like everything else,” he told reporters earlier this week. “You have an opportunity to educate young people, and you need to take the opportunity to educate them.
