Many college coaches dread hot weather in preseason football camp, because it limits what they can accomplish without affecting the players, but Cal head coach Sonny Dykes seems to be embracing it.
“The big thing is we want to get into the heat,” head coach Sonny Dykes said after Monday’s morning practice at De La Salle High School in Concord.
Moving inland a bit provided more heat than the Bears would get in Berkeley, which was plenty hot itself.
The Bears style, which focuses on churning out a lot of offensive plays, requires the players to be in tip-top shape.
