Another 1st time Calympian has won an Olympic medal. Josh Prenot, who recently exhausted his 4 years of NCAA eligibility but still needs another semester/year to finish his physics degree, won the Silver medal in Men’s 200 Breast.
Kazakhstan's Dmitriy Balandin took the Gold. Anton Chupkov took the Bronze.
Prenot swam the world’s 2nd fastest time and the fastest time ever by an American of 2:07.17 at the U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials earlier this year.
Congratulations to Prenot on his first Olympic hardware. The 200 Breast is his only event in the Rio 2016 Olympic, but Prenot may be in line to take over the 200 and 400 IM from the likes of Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte in 2020 Tokyo.
