Oregon Co-DC Jim Leavitt is leaving the program after mutually agreeing with the program to part ways. Leavitt joined the program with former Oregon HC Willie Taggart in 2017, and before that, coached the Colorado defense from 2015-2016. The Ducks improved significantly with Jim Leavitt coaching and looked to be even more devastating this upcoming season with the #1 recruit for 2019 in DE Kayvon Thibodeaux.

Oregon also announced it will begin a national search for Leavitt’s replacement, though Duck Territory reported Wednesday that Oregon will promote co-defensive coordinator Keith Hayward to take over Leavitt’s role.
