Between the departure of head coach Cuonzo Martin, Ivan Rabb’s decision to officially declare for the 2017 NBA draft, the hiring of new head coach Wyking Jones and loss of 4-star recruit Jemarl Baker, it has been a busy few weeks for the Men’s Basketball program here at Cal. Despite the reaction from some Cal players being positive, serious concerns remain regarding the current state of our roster, especially with the loss of key recruit. That said, there is an abundance of attractive players who have opted to transfer from their current universities that would fit in nicely at Cal, the question is; can Wyking Jones deliver and start his reign as Cal’s new head coach with a sense of optimism that a big name hire would have supplied?
