Cal played good basketball in the first half. Cal’s zone was very focused, leading to the Beavers’ 10 turnovers. Offensively, the scoring was not very diverse. Darius McNeill scored half of Cal’s 32 first-half points. Tres Tinkle led the Beavers with 13 points. The Beavers went on a 10-0 run to end the first half.
Oregon State led by as much as 11 in the second half, but Cal fought their way back into the game, bringing it to within two with slightly under two munites remaining. Though following a cluth three point basket from Connor Vanover, the Bear would go on to scoreless in the last minute, while Oregon state would go on to get defensive stops and key baskets that would lead them onto defeat the Bears 79-71.
