The Golden Bears played an exceptional first half and ended the half leading by six. The Bear played well and put up a good fight against the Sun Devils. Arizona State shot just 26% from the field, while Cal shot 40%. Moreover, Cal out-rebounded ASU by 5. Matt Bradley led the Bears in scoring with seven points, while Luguentz Dort led the Sun Devils with 11 points.

In the second half, the Sun Devils came out and fought back for control of the scoreboard. They would eventually regain the lead, and by midway through the second half, they would build a double-digit lead.
