Another head coach with California Golden Bears connections is leaving their team this week. Bruce Feldman reports that Fresno State and former Cal head coach Jeff Tedford is stepping down from his role as the Bulldogs head coach. Health reasons again appear to be the culprit.
This is the third time in four stints (NFL and college) that Tedford has suffered health problems as an OC/coach in his final season in a program. He suffered from walking pneumonia during his final season at Cal. He had to resign from the offensive coordinator position with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers due to heart issues, requiring two stents to be placed in an artery.
