California begins the season 1-0 after defeating its Northern California neighbors UC Davis 27-13.
As expected, the turnover count for the California Golden Bears season opener against the UC Davis Aggies was high. Unfortunately for the home side, California’s much-vaunted defense was not responsible. It was California who coughed off the ball a whopping four times—two at the hands of quarterback Chase Garbers who threw an interception in the first quarter and fumbled the ball in the last.
