BERKELEY - Cal volleyball student-athlete Savannah Rennie has returned to Berkeley, less than three months after receiving a liver transplant at the Indiana University Transplant Center.
Rennie, who was diagnosed last September with Congenital Hepatic Fibrosis with Portal Hypertension, received the transplant on May 17. She remained in Indiana to receive follow-up care before returning briefly to her home in San Diego.
Rennie will enroll in classes for the fall semester. Cal opens training camp for the 2016 season Tuesday and Rennie has been medically cleared to practice in a very limited fashion.
"We are so thrilled that Savannah is back home," Cal coach Rich Feller said.
