Justin Wilcox gets high marks for Cal’s defense — no unit in the conference, on either side of the ball, was better coached — and low marks for Cal’s offense. One could argue that mismanagement of the quarterback position cost the Bears at least one victory (Arizona) and possibly a second (Washington State). The offensive offense in the Cheez-It Bowl was a fitting end. If Wilcox doesn’t rectify the situation, the Bears’ promising trajectory will flatline.
