The Bears shutout the Boilermakers for the second straight night, and sophomore catcher Brett Cumberland went 4-for-4 with his second home run in as many nights, as well as a pair of doubles with two knocked in offensively. Senior starter, righty Ryan Mason tallied his first win of the year with a 10-strikeout performance in seven spotless innings of work, scattering six hits.
