The Cal women’s gymnastics team earned some well-deserved hardware from their shortened season as Maya Bordas and Kyana George combined to secure three All-America honors from the Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association.
Their regular-season honors were announced Tuesday as Bordas and George each claimed a Second-Team nod and Bordas earned Second-Team All-American on the uneven bars. The All-American honors are the first for both athletes as Bordas and George wrapped up their sophomore and junior seasons, respectively.
From the release and since the season was cut short from COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak, gymnasts earned All-America honors based on their National Qualifying Scores (NQS) through 10 weeks of the season.
