The California Golden Bears are on the road against a team that made an appearance in last year’s College Football Playoff—the Washington Huskies.
Cal already bucked the trend of picking captains for the season—instead using three game captains—and it’s time for a fresh new bucking. There will only be two game captains this week:
In addition to earning national recognition for his play, Downs is earning recognition from the team—this is his third time as game captain; Downs was also a captain for Cal–Oregon last week and for Cal–Weber State.
