In 2017, nothing worked for the Cal defense when the Bears visited Eugene. The score wasn’t much better in 2018, but there are signs of progress on the schematic front. In this video I look at how Tim DeRuyter schemed to stop the Ducks’ RPO-based run game in 2018, showing an additional layer of deception that limited the kinds of plays that killed us last year. These changes obviously didn’t solve all of our problems, and so I I close the video by looking at Oregon’s long TD run from the second quarter, showing what went wrong and why.
