With football right around the corner for the California Golden Bears, head coach Justin Wilcox notified five redshirt seniors that they would no longer be members of the team as walk-ons, but earned full scholarships for their final year with the program.
TE Jake Ashton has played in a total of six games, making his debut against Grambling State in 2015. With the reintroduction of the tight end to the offense, there is opportunity for Ashton to see more playing time.
