Film Study: Cal D vs. USC

In this video, I look at how the California Golden Bears held a top-15 offense to 13 points through the first three quarters. We see how the USC Trojans’ offense was built around attacking the edges of the defense, but how Cal’s playcallers adjusted to cause chaos for the Trojan blocking schemes. Then, when USC started to counter our zone coverages against the run, we transitioned to playing Cover-0, a coverage that we’d only used at the goalline earlier in the season. By playing aggressively, the Bears were able to hold the Trojans for most of the game before our own offensive turnovers gave them a short field, leading to their two final TD’s of the game.
