By any standard, the Cal-UA game was exciting and fun to watch. After being down much of the first half, the Bears came back and kicked a game-tying field goal to send the game into OT late in the fourth. As entertaining as the game was, however, it further revealed some problems with our run defense. In this game we had a new starting duo at ILB, and part of the reason that we gave up so many rushing yards is that they’re reads and reactions weren’t what they needed to be. In this video, I look at what went wrong in our run defense, and point out the things that need to improve for us to continue with our positive defensive trajectory in 2018.
