The California Golden Bears have a glut of wide receivers, so it was inevitable that was attrition. Cal lost one of their young wideouts in Drew Kobayashi, who announced he will transfer to find an opportunity to play elsewhere.
Kobayashi did not appear on the spring depth chart that went five deep in some spots (particularly wide receiver), so it looks like there just wasn’t a place for him to find playing time. Best of luck to Drew to finding a place in the college football world!
With Cal moving away from the Bear Raid/four wide receiver system, you have to figure that he won’t be the last wideout to change ranks.
