Many California Golden Bears joined in the fight for equality and social justice today during NFL national anthem protests.
Colin Kaepernick started his protest two year ago to raise awareness for police brutality and institutional racism against people African-Americans, and it has reportedly been a significant factor in keeping Kaepernick out of the NFL.
Marshawn Lynch was one of the first to join the movement by staying seated during the national anthem at a Raiders preseason game, and he has maintained that tradition.
After the president’s comments last Friday that called for kneeling athletes to be fired from NFL teams, several other players joined the protest.
