Charlie Moore the Pac-12 player of the week; Cal basketball drops out of top 25

Raise your hand if you had Charlie Moore being the first Cal player to receive a regular season accolade.

Moore is the Pac-12 player of the week after an explosion of 38 points against UC Irvine. Moore's 38 points are the most for a Cal player since Jerome Randle put up 39 at Washington State in January 2010. He is the first Cal freshman to earn the league's weekly award since Leon Powe in January 2004. Moore topped Shareef Abdur Rahim putting up 33 points as a freshman in November 1995. Moore tied Oregon's Tajuan Porter for fourth among the Pac-12's freshman scoring records, just three points shy of Don MacLean's (UCLA) record of 41.
