The California Golden Bears vs Arizona State Sun Devils football game scheduled for Week 2 of the Pac-12 football season will not be played, as announced by the Pac-12 and the Cal Athletics Department.
The reason behind the cancellation this time around, however, was not because of Cal. Instead, ASU head coach Herm Edwards, among others, tested positive for COVID-19.
It was also stated, though we didn’t have a confirmed yes on the Bears playing this week, that Cal would have been ready to play this week after having to cancel their season-opener last week against Washington due to their own positive test results.
