Over the weekend, Cal Track and Field competed at the MPSF Indoor Championships up at Seattle. Bears bested last year’s 3 titles with 4 in 2019, despite some personnel changes due to graduation (to Cal hurdler/Football DB/punt-returner Ashtyn Davis) and injury (pole vaulter Lauren Martinez).
The lone repeat champion for the Golden Bears is men’s triple jump winner Tuomas Kaukolahti. On his 3rd attempt, Kaukolahti got a jump of 16.17m/53-0.75 for the win. The Finnish junior has now won the triple jump in all 5 indoor events this season.
Other Cal Bears to pick up victory includes sophomore Camryn Roger in the weight throw with a distance of 21.
