In a non-Olympic year, the biannual FINA World Championship is the next biggest event. Like the USA Olympic Swimming Trials last year, the 2017 Phillips 66 National Championship (Tuesday June 27th thru Saturday July 1st) from Indianapolis, IN will determine who gets to represent the United States at the world stage next month.
The 2017 FINA World Aquatics Championship will take place from Budapest, Hungary from July 14th-30th. Only the top two finishers from each event and the 3rd through 6th finisher in the 100m and 200m Free at the U.S. Nationals will make that squad. Berths to the 2017 World University Games (August 20th-27th from Taoyuan City, Taiwan) will also be at stake.
