Cal has signed Greek guard Dimitrios Klonaras to the 2019 class. The guard/forward is a welcome addition to the Bears, who is in desperate need of playmakers after the loss of some key players. The 6-5 Klonaras hails from Thessaloniki, Greece where he played for PAOK in the Greek Basketball League. He also played for the Greek national team in 2017 in the U16 FIBA Championship as the point guard. During the tournament, Klonaras averaged 14 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals per game. Greece won the championship in that tournament.
“Dimitrios has a versatile game and we welcome his skills to our perimeter group His experience in high-level international play will also be an advantage for him as he transitions to the college game,” said head coach Mark Fox.
