Cal signee Max Gilliam was one of 28 players included Tuesday on Rivals.com’s list of the biggest “risers” in the 2016 class.
The four-star, dual-threat quarterback from Thousand Oaks High School went from unranked to No. 173 nationally. Gilliam is rated 50th in the state of California, and he is the only Bears pledge in the Rivals250.
“It was easy to give the California commit a bump,” national recruiting analyst Adam Gorney wrote. “Although he’s a dual-threat quarterback, Gilliam has tremendous pocket presence and can stand in there to deliver passes all over the field.
