The Bears looked fresh and aggressive to start the game. In less than 4 minutes played Cal already had 2 blocks and looked active on defense, but alas the Bears fell into one of their patented scoring droughts. Not helping the problem, Justice Sueing picked up his 2nd foul at the 14-minute mark and exited the game while Cal found themselves down by 10. The standout player for the Bears in the first half was Juhwan Harris-Dyson. JHD was everywhere, whether it was going hard to basket or playing great defense. With 4:37 left the Beavers Ronnie Stacy was called for a technical after a hard foul on Darrius McNeill.
