The Cal football team, in its first night home game in 12 contests, took down visiting Oregon State, 54-24, on Saturday at Memorial Stadium. Cal had not won a game since its 34-28 victory over Washington State at home on Oct. 3.
The Bears, who had lost their last four games, are now bowl-eligible with their sixth win of the season. Despite a slow start by both offenses, Cal settled into a rhythm late into the first quarter against a porous Beaver defense, eventually entering halftime with a steady 24-10 lead.
Cal quarterback Jared Goff, who has struggled over the past few weeks, finished the night with 453 yards, going 26-37 and throwing for six touchdowns.
