PROVO — BYU football players and coaches were noticeably more exuberant following the Cougars' 41-20 win over San Jose State on Saturday, a victory that brought an end to a seven-game losing streak.

If only for a moment, BYU's football family was able to revel in a win for the first time since the season-opener, bringing with it a sense of relief for a program enduring one of its toughest stretches in history.

"It was different getting a win. There are a lot of happy faces right now," said BYU wide receiver Micah Simon, who had two touchdown receptions in the game.
