Someday, if given time and the right players, Ty Detmer will install an NFL type offense at BYU and, most agree, it will be productive.
But that day has not come as the Cougars are averaging just 11 points a game and rank near the bottom nationally in total yards, yards per play, yards per attempt and other statistical categories.
Even in the Utah game, BYU struggled but looked like progress was coming as the Cougars scored three touchdowns — one called back. The two TDs were more than Utah got in seven appearances in the red zone.
