BOISE — Western Michigan coach Tim Lester felt BYU turned the game completely around within a few minutes of the second half and it was frustrating that his Broncos couldn’t do anything about it in BYU’s 49-18 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl victory Friday in Albertsons Stadium.
It was a tale of two completely different halves.
“Yeah, they abandoned the running game,” said Lester, whose defense limited BYU to just seven points and a futile attack in the first half. “I thought our defense did a great job the first half keeping us in it, but once they got a lead on us, they just got after our secondary pretty good.
