Wendy Nelson Maxfield, daughter of LDS Church President Russell Nelson, dies at 67

Wendy Nelson Maxfield, the daughter of Russell Nelson, president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, died Friday at age 67.

Maxfield died following what a Church spokeswoman called “a courageous battle" with cancer.

“We express our love to the entire Nelson and Maxfield family as they remember her life and mourn her passing,” the spokeswoman said.

Maxfield was married to Norman Maxfield. Together they raised seven children and have 20 grandchildren.

Maxfield is Nelson’s daughter from his first marriage. He and his first wife, Dantzel White Nelson, raised 10 children — nine daughters and one son — before her death in 2005.
