Sandy • No one believed in them. No one thought they had what it took to make a deep run in the 6A boys’ soccer state tournament.
The Weber Wolverines dug in Thursday night at Rio Tinto Stadium and grinded out a 1-0 victory over the Copper Hills Grizzlies to win the 6A championship. It was Weber’s first championship in boys’ soccer since 2004.
“It’s everything,” junior Luke Johnson said when asked what it meant to win the title. “Everyone thought we wouldn’t even win the first game. But we’re together. This is our team.
