The BYU women's basketball team's ascension to the top of the West Coast Conference wasn't nearly as easy as the few steps each player and coach took up an orange ladder Thursday night to cut down the net at the Marriott Center.
But it was oh so worth it.
The Cougars wrapped up the outright WCC regular-season title with a 68-60 win over San Diego, a fitting way to earn the crown considering the Toreros handed BYU its only blemish on a 15-1 conference record so far, with one week to play in the regular season.
