Francis Bernard made the offseason decision to move over to linebacker after spending his freshman season at BYU as a running back.
PROVO — The last time BYU fans saw Francis Bernard, he was rushing for a team-high 58 yards, including a 10-yard touchdown, in the Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl against Utah in December.
The next time they see him on the field, he'll be in a new position — and a new number. Instead of No. 36, the sophomore will be donning No. 13 in 2016.
Bernard discussed his decision to transition from running back to linebacker on Thursday with the media following BYU's second day of spring practice.
