Syracuse resident Cory Green, a political newcomer who served in both the U.S. Army Reserve and the U.S. Navy, is running to represent Utah’s 1st Congressional District in Congress, Green announced last week.
Green, who describes himself as a “constitutional conservative,” said he is the most qualified candidate right now to replace outgoing Rep. Rob Bishop, R-Utah, who has represented the northernmost portions of the state in the U.S. House since 2003.
“I voted for President Trump in 2016 and I will vote for him in 2020,” Green said in a prepared statement. “I fully support President Trump in securing our southern border and in building the border wall.
