Berkeley, Calif. • Utah completed its first Bay Area road sweep in the program’s Pac-12 history, beating California 82-64 on Saturday night at Haas Pavilion.
Utah is 11-8 overall, 5-2 in the conference after rallying to top Stanford on Thursday and leading for nearly all of Saturday's game. Utah has won four straight games; Cal (5-15, 0-8 Pac-12) has lost nine in a row.
Senior guard Sedrick Barefield led the Utes with 21 points. Freshman guard Both Gach added 18 and freshman forward Timmy Allen had 17 points and 12 rebounds.
The Utes rode their 3-point shooting to a 46-42 halftime lead, although Cal's closing run of 15-5 kept Utah from completing a dominant performance.
