In the renewal of a rivalry left dormant since a Wildcats blowout out win eight years ago, Utah came out of the halftime locker room playing downhill. With the momentum on their side, the Utes ripped off a 15-5 run to open the second half on their way to a 60-49 win as part of the final installment of the Beehive Classic at Vivint Smart Home Arena.
Sophomore guard Timmy Allen asserted himself midway through the first half, finishing with 19 points on 6-for-15 shooting. Allen also helped hound Weber State star guard Jerrick Harding into a 5-for-14 shooting afternoon.
